GSW Manufacturing, Inc., an international manufacturer, and technology developer serving the automotive industry, is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative and highly organized person for the role of Engineering Supervisor based out of the GSW Headquarters in Findlay, Ohio.
This position provides a candidate the unique opportunity to partner with key business stakeholders to lead in R&D, process improvements, and other functions in engineering for new and existing wire harness products. The role will collaborate with internal and external partners. Primary activities include new production technologies, process improvements, manufacturing capabilities and business needs, and lead team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plans, directs and coordinates the activities related to new production technologies ·
- Provides supervision and direction for assigned Production Engineers
- Approve engineering quotations to customer ·
- Research, evaluate and implement New Technology project
- Oversee the packaging requirements of customers.
- Ensure compliance of GSW products by conducting lab testing and evaluation of components and finished goods in accordance to print requirements
Requirements:
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings ·
- Working knowledge of IATF16949 and ISO14001 ·
- Excellent problem-solving skills; understand of problem-solving systems and tools ·
- Understanding of Engineering and Manufacturing concepts and strategies Possesses good communication skills, a positive attitude and ability work as part of a team. ·
- Effective written and verbal and written communication with all departments and levels at GSW ·
- Ability to lead efficient and effective meetings ·
- Ability to effectively communicate with people who speak English as a 2nd language
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Associates degree with equivalent experience in manufacturing engineering field required ·
- At least 5 years supervisory experience preferred Background in manufacturing or engineering very beneficial.
- Spanish or Japanese language skills are a plus.
